The Director of Engineering shall be well-versed in the aspects of a Civil Engineering Project and will oversee the Civil Engineers. The Director of Engineering shall have a good working knowledge of Structural Engineering, Surveying, and the Geotechnical Department and how each of these disciplines provides the necessary elements for the completion of a project. The Director of Engineering will oversee the Engineering Staff. The Director of Engineering shall be able to meet with clients, discuss their projects, build new client relationships, and assist with reviewing agency/municipality/county/state staff as necessary for the completion of the client’s project.
Duties for the position of Director of Engineering shall include:
- Providing Direction and Assisting in Developing detailed designs
- Providing Direction and Assisting in feasibility assessments and site observations
- Providing Direction and Assisting in preparing and implementing project plans
- Providing Direction and Assisting in reviewing government regulations and ordinances
- Providing Direction and Assisting in making recommendations or presenting alternative solutions to problems
- Providing Direction and Assisting in liaising with clients and other professional subcontractors
- Providing Direction and Assisting in project management duties (e.g. managing budgets, resources, and deadlines; etc.)
The Director of Engineering candidate should be a motivated and technically driven individual who wants to join a company with excellent opportunities for career growth and development. The candidate should have:
- S. in Engineering
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of Civil Engineering Design experience with increasing levels of responsibility
- Past Project Management Experience is a plus
- Past Supervisory Experience is a plus
- E. license in the State of Colorado or ability to obtain it through reciprocity
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD- Knowledge and experience with other design software a plus
