The Structural Engineer will perform calculations and designs for residential and commercial structures including foundations, floor joists, beams, headers, columns, etc. for spread footing, caisson, and/or helical pier designs. The candidate should have a good understanding of the Mechanics of Materials, be able to review and understand Geotechnical Investigations and have a general understanding of the construction of concrete, steel, and timber elements.
Duties for the position of Structural Engineer shall include:
- Prepare reports, designs, and drawings
- Perform calculations regarding soil pressures, loads, stresses, etc.
- Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately
- Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction
- Assist clients with planning and/or building regulations approval
- Analyze configurations of the basic components of a structure
- Liaise with professional staff such as architects and engineers
- Administer contracts and manage projects
- Observe sites and structures to evaluate the conditions and foundations
- Use computer-aided design technology for simulation purposes

- B. S. in Engineering
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years of Structural Engineering Design experience
- P.E. license preferred but not required. If not licensed, the candidate should be on track to be licensed within approximately a year
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD- Knowledge and experience with other design software a plus
